Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can.

Hey there, there goes the Spider-Man….
Come on! You know the words!!!
At last, a movie about the Spider-Man I grew up reading. Not the 18 year old (who looked more in his mid 20’s) trying to balance work, college, relationships and being a super hero. But the 14 year old high school kid who thinks having super powers is freaking awesome! And like all teenagers…. ok, MOST teenagers… think they are indestructible and know everything.
This is the best Spider-Man to date IMHO. It has a comedic bent to it that plays well. The villain was totally believable to me. Micheal Keaton did a great job (as if he couldn’t) as the vulture. They don’t really call him that in the movie but they did a fantastic job of implying it which I really appreciated. As an old comic book guy, I remember the Vulture as being one of Spider-Man’s nemeses and it was good to see him re-imagined… I guess having an old guy in a green body suit and wings would look pretty dumb.
The movie ties itself to the rest of the recent Marvel movies with references to the “Incident” (New York getting attacked by aliens), the other superheros, and Tony Stark/Iron Man being his mentor. Many things to like about this movie. Did I mention that Marisa Tomei is in it? No? Huh, not that she is super hot or anything…. I mean.. she’s a fine actor…. and well she’s in the movie.
Ahem, moving on… a great movie for everyone!
