Yars’ Return is the sequel to the 1982 title Yars’ Revenge, the best-selling original game for the Atari 2600. One of the initial releases in the Atari XP line of re-releases, is Yars’ Return in a Limited Edition box set including lots of extra goodies.
Yars’ Return takes the gameplay of the Yars’ Revenge—battling an enemy that shoots at you from behind a barrier, and periodically blasts at you as a deadly swirl—and extends it. Gameplay was strictly horizontal in Yars’ Revenge. In Yars’ Return enemies come at you from three directions, adding more variety and interest to the gameplay in this unreleased sequel.
