The Atari SLIK STIK from Suncom | Among the BEST 2600 9-pin Controllers!

In the early ’80s a company called Suncom manufactured this unassuming little 9-pin joystick for the Atari 2600. It doesn’t look like much, but with its solid steel shaft, ball-top, and low profile, the Slik Stik is one of the most accurate and durable third-party controllers available for the 2600 (and compatibles).

Jon found this one at the Southern Fried Gaming Expo 2025 and picked it up on pedigree alone. Let’s clean it up and give it a test to see why so many players swear by this little controller.
