ALIEN on Atari 2600 | “In Space, No One Can Hear You Copy Pac-Man.”

Alien is a 1982 maze video game based on the 1979 film of the same name, published by Fox Video Games for the Atari 2600. The game has the player control a human moving through the hallways of a space ship avoiding the adult alien and destroying the small alien eggs. Along with Mega Force and M*A*S*H, Alien was among the tie-in video games made for 20th Century Fox's video game division programmed by Doug Neubauer. Reviews from The Video Game Update and video game critic Brett Weiss found the game to be derivative of other games like Pac-Man. #atari #alien #retrogaming #genxgrownup - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com

$6B Fantasy? Proof You Don’t Own Your Skins

Valve’s latest CS2 patch detonated the skins economy — reports say up to $3B vanished overnight as Trade Up tweaks let players convert cheap Covert “reds” into knives and gloves, sending prices into freefall. It’s a stark reminder that when platforms change the rules, your “digital assets” can disappear instantly. Plus: Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection drops with a brand-new Fatality Trainer to help you master every finisher, from Babalities to Animalities — launching October 30, 2025. And in retro news, deadmau5 teams up with Atari for a limited-edition Atari 7800 cartridge, Meowingtons Revenge, playable on both the 2600+ and 7800+ systems. 1980 SPACE PANIC by Universal | The World’s FIRST Platformer

Space Panic is a 1980 arcade video game developed by Universal. Presented in a side view, the player digs holes in horizontal platforms to trap pursuing aliens, then eliminates them by hitting them with a shovel. A port to the PV-1000 by Casio and a ColecoVision version by CBS Electronics were both released in 1983. Predating Nintendo's Donkey Kong, and lacking a jump mechanic, Space Panic was the first game involving climbing ladders between walkable platforms. The genre was initially labeled "climbing games" and "ladder games", but by the late 1980s became known as platform games. The original arcade game was commercially successful in Japan, but an obscure release in North America. A 1981 clone, Apple Panic, available before any official home versions, became a top-seller on the Apple II and was ported to other home computers. There were over a dozen Space Panic clones for home systems, often with "panic" in the title. Lode Runner (1983) later put its own spin on climbing and digging, a lineage which eventually took on the name puzzle-platform games. #retrogaming #arcade #platformer #genxgrownup - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com
