For Gen X, reruns weren’t just background TV; they were part of our daily routine […]

DIG DUG Makes NO SENSE… And I Love It! | Namco’s Arcade Classic on the ATARI 2600

Dig Dug is a 1982 maze video game developed and published by Namco for arcades. It was released by Atari, Inc. in North America. The player digs underground tunnels to attack enemies in each level, by either inflating them to bursting or crushing them underneath rocks. Dig Dug was planned and designed by Masahisa Ikegami with help from Galaga creator Shigeru Yokoyama. It was programmed for the Namco Galaga arcade board by Shouichi Fukatani, who worked on many of Namco's earlier arcade games, along with Toshio Sakai. Music was composed by Yuriko Keino, including the character movement jingle at executives' request, as her first Namco game. Namco heavily marketed it as a "strategic digging game". #atari #retrogaming #arcade #genxgrownup - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS Fightbox » https://genxgrownup.com/fightbox King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com

NEW Game Boy Game Feels Like a Lost Classic

Back in 2024, TigerChainsaw Studios successfully funded Maiden of the Dark, a brand-new action-platformer developed for Nintendo's original Game Boy. Now the physical release is here, complete with cartridge, box, and manual. Inspired by classics like Operation C, Return of the Ninja, and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Maiden of the Dark sends players on a ten-stage quest through forests, caves, villages, and mountains as they battle enemies, conquer platforming challenges, and take on powerful bosses. In this video, we'll take a look at the physical package, explore the game's presentation, and spend some time playing through this modern Game Boy adventure that feels like it arrived straight from the 1990s. #GameBoy #retrogaming #homebrew #genxgrownup @TigerChainsawStudios @TigerChainsaw - LINKS https://tigerchainsawstudios.com - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS Fightbox » https://genxgrownup.com/fightbox King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com - CHAPTERS 00:00 Tiger Chainsaw 01:00 Maiden of the Dark 01:47 Box & Contents 03:45 Power On 05:53 8PM 08:34 9PM 11:28 10PM 13:05 Summary
