Atari in 2025: Cartridges? Yes—Fight Me

Atari just dropped a surprise for retro gamers — brand-new physical cartridges for the Atari 7800 in 2025! That’s right, officially licensed Bandai Namco classics like Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig Dug, and Xevious are hitting shelves again for the 7800 and 7800+. But is this a collector’s dream or just nostalgia gone too far? Meanwhile, the voice behind the legendary “Toasty!” line from Mortal Kombat has left the studio, marking the end of an era for one of gaming’s most iconic sound bites. And in the DIY corner, a creative modder has turned LEGO bricks into a fully functional Game Boy — and yes, it actually plays games! From Atari’s retro revival to Mortal Kombat goodbyes and brick-built handhelds, this week’s episode of Bit By Bit covers everything that makes gaming history worth revisiting. ? 1992 Asterix on the Sega Master System | What’s All the HYPE ABOUT?

Asterix is a typical side scrolling platform game where either Asterix or Obelix must navigate through each stage, in most stages the player must locate a key that will open a door at the end of the stage, some stages a boss must be defeated to complete the stage. Not that Jon would know any of that, though, since he's NEVER played Asterix. In this experimental video, Jon first up Asterix for the first time to see what all the fuss is about! The game is broken up into 8 different areas with between 1 and 3 stages in each area. The player starts with 3 lives and 3 health points, a health point is lost if the character is hit by an enemy a live is lost if all health points are lost or the character falls down a hole. Health points can be obtained by picking up certain items during the game. When certain bosses are defeated a heart is obtained, collecting this heart increases the health capacity by one point. The character can have up to 6 health points. #sega #retrogaming #genxgrownup - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com - CHAPTERS
