You've surely noticed that almost every modern game controller puts the directional controls on the left and the action buttons on the right. Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo -- pretty much everybody. But here’s the thing - That layout wasn't always the standard. By then, the industry had already moved beyond simple Pong-style systems and into cartridge-based consoles like the Atari 2600 and ColecoVision, making the Compu-Vision feel almost like a throwback the moment it hit store shelves. Despite the futuristic name and sleek woodgrain styling, this was still a dedicated first-generation “Pong clone” console, featuring built-in paddle games like Tennis, Soccer, Squash, and Solo Handball. In this video, we’re going to clean up this forgotten piece of early ’80s gaming history, see if it still works more than 40 years later, and put it through its paces on a modern display.
