NEW Game Boy Game Feels Like a Lost Classic

Back in 2024, TigerChainsaw Studios successfully funded Maiden of the Dark, a brand-new action-platformer developed for Nintendo’s original Game Boy. Now the physical release is here, complete with cartridge, box, and manual.

Inspired by classics like Operation C, Return of the Ninja, and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Maiden of the Dark sends players on a ten-stage quest through forests, caves, villages, and mountains as they battle enemies, conquer platforming challenges, and take on powerful bosses.

In this video, we’ll take a look at the physical package, explore the game’s presentation, and spend some time playing through this modern Game Boy adventure that feels like it arrived straight from the 1990s.
