The GR78+ Grip is designed to improve the ergonomics of your stock Atari CX78+ wired gamepad. The GR78+ Grip requires NO MODIFICATIONS to your stock Gamepad. All you need to do is slide your gamepad into the grip from the bottom opening and it will snap nicely into place. Once done, you can depress the small red snap latch and pull your controller right back out.
As a kid, Paul loved the new concept of Atari’s novel D-Pad Gamepad. Now, as a Gen X gamer however, his hands tend to be just a bit too big and the overall boxiness of the stock CX78+ makes it somewhat uncomfortable to play for longer periods of time. The design of his GR78+ Grip is a merger of the more recent generation controllers ergonomically retrofitted to the classic CX78+ gamepad.
The GR78+ Grip ergonomics is also designed to naturally place your left thumb directly over the top of the gimble/D-Pad without any stretching or awkward hand or finger/thumb positioning. Hours of gameplay can be had without Gen X hand cramps!
