RUN YOURSELF RAGGED: The Name Was a Warning

One little metal ball. A whole obstacle course. And every move is up to you.

After I featured TOMY’s Magnetic Pac-Man Maze youtu.be/fCBA0-q2p9Y , so many of you mentioned Screwball Scramble that I had to revisit the game I remembered from my school library as Run Yourself Ragged!

This vintage TOMY game puts a miniature mechanical obstacle course at your fingertips, with buttons, levers, and a dial controlling everything from seesaws and parallel bars to a hidden maze and the final launch toward the bell. No batteries. Just skill—and maybe a little patience.

Join me for a look at its history, how Run Yourself Ragged connects to Screwball Scramble, and some hands-on attempts to guide that little ball all the way to the finish!
