If you've watched my reviews, you've probably heard me complain when a retro handheld or tabletop arcade doesn't save high scores. But this isn't really about the scores themselves—it's about what they represented, and why that little feature was such an important part of the original arcade experience. Let's talk about what we've been trying to preserve all along. #retrogaming #arcadegames #highscore #genxgrownup - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS Fightbox » https://genxgrownup.com/fightbox King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com - CHAPTERS 00:00 Common Comment 01:15 Small but Important 02:05 What We're Chasing 03:10 The Challenge 04:09 Technical Argument 04:58 The Chase 05:37 What Are We Preserving? 07:12 Gadgets Aren't Arcades 08:03 The Irony 08:44 Why It Matters 09:15 Conclusion

The CULTIC live playthrough continues, and we’re deep into The Asylum at the final checkpoint. We’ve made it through cultists, chaos, creepy halls, and more panic reloads than I’d like to admit — but now it’s time for one last push to see if we can finally survive the Asylum and move on to whatever nightmare CULTIC throws at us next. Join the GXG crew live for more retro FPS mayhem, old-school shooter action, questionable survival choices, and hopefully a clean escape from The Asylum. Come hang out, chat with us, and help me finish this stage! #CULTIC #RetroFPS #BoomerShooter #HorrorFPS #LiveStream #PCGaming #IndieGames #RetroGaming #GenXGrownUp #GXG

Growing up watching Leonard Nimoy’s “In Search Of…,” I learned that the Bermuda Triangle was somewhere you probably ought to avoid. So naturally, this week I’m heading straight into it—with an Atari 2600 submarine! Requested by viewer TeeDoh Jackson, Data Age’s Bermuda Triangle sends me treasure hunting through a mysterious underwater city. There are sharks, squid, mines, and some things on the ocean floor that are better left alone. I enjoy the arcade action, but once I cross 10,000 points, this expedition gets a LOT more dangerous. #atari #retrogaming #vintage #genxgrownup - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv
