Commando Raid from U.S. Games is a colorful combo of other Atari 2600 titles. Get YOUR Physical Media Collection UNDER CONTROL with CLZ: https://clz.com In Commando Raid, you are in defense of your buildings which have come under attack by android commando raiders. Without warning they appear, intent on capturing your buildings and destroying your gun emplacement. First, the troop-carrying helicopters fly in dropping android paratroopers to test your defenses. Soon the sky is filled with fluttering helicopters and wave after wave of android paratroopers. They must be destroyed! Each paratrooper allowed to land on a building destroys a portion of that building. If three paratroopers land on a building. It will be totally destroyed and must be considered under commando control. Worse still, the androids can now tunnel towards your gun emplacement. Each paratrooper who lands on that building expands the tunnel. If they are not stopped, they will plant an explosive charge under the gun. In the midst of the battle, an aircraft may appear. It will drop a devastating bomb which can destroy all buildings and the gun emplacement. You must shoot it down or at least shoot the bomb it drops. The game is an underwater shooter in which the player controls a submarine on a mission to rescue divers. The player uses a submarine to shoot at enemies and rescue divers. Hazards include sharks which attack divers and the player and enemy submarines, which can shoot torpedoes at the player's submarine . The player must ward off the enemies by firing an unlimited supply of torpedoes while trying to rescue divers swimming through the water. The points awarded to the player for shooting an enemy starts at 10 points each, and increases as the game advances. The sub can hold up to six divers at a time. Each time the player resurfaces prior to having a full load of six divers, one of the divers is removed. The submarine has a limited amount of oxygen. The player must surface often in order to replenish the oxygen, but if the player resurfaces without any rescued divers, they will lose a life. If the player resurfaces with the maximum amount of divers, they will gain bonus points for the sub's remaining oxygen. Each time the player surfaces, the game's difficulty increases; enemies increase in number and speed. Eventually an enemy sub begins patrolling the surface, leaving the player without a safe haven. The player starts the game with 3 extra lives, and is awarded an additional extra life each time the player scores 10,000 points. Seaquest can be played single-player or with two players alternating turns. Like other Activision 2600 games, this one had a patch you can send in to get. It required you to get a score of 50,000. In 1986, Tecmo published the side-scrolling platformer, Rygar, to the arcades. I always enjoyed it, but found it to be pretty punishing and ended up costing me more tokens than I would've liked. So in 1990, when Atari released a translation of Rygar for the Lynx, I was immediately onboard. As a bonus, this version of Rygar turned out to have a gentler ramp-up in difficulty, meaning I could play longer and see more of the levels.
