Atari’s Stampede from Activision | I’m DETERMINED to Score 1,000 POINTS!

Stampede is not a favorite of mine, but I WILL at least get 1,000 points on it! ? MORE Friday Plays to Watch NOW: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iziib8cEbvo&list=PL13zHeyDr6xswcm1YMnJivU0jefJIOLcb&ab_channel=GenXGrownUp Stampede is a video game written by Bob Whitehead for the Atari Video Computer System (later called the Atari 2600) and published by Activision in 1981. Stampede is a left-to-right horizontally scrolling action game with a cattle round-up theme. An Intellivision version was released the following year. An Activision catalog from 1982 advertised Stampede in the following way: Ready for a little round up? With Stampede by Activision, you'll have to ride fast and rope even faster. Those little dogies seem to be everywhere, and they're all worth points. But, be careful! Your ol' horse can get a little edgy, especially when you take your eyes off the trail. So, head out West for hours of fun with Stampede! The objective of Stampede is to round up all of the cattle without letting any pass by. To do so, the player must lasso each one in order to capture it. The player is initially only allowed to let two cattle pass; if a third one slips by, the game is over. All of the cattle run in the same direction as the player, albeit slower. The one exception is the Black Angus calf, which is described by the game as "stubborn", and remains motionless, forcing the player to prioritize the calf. An important caveat to this is that the player gets one extra free pass for every 1,000 points scored. If a player were at 2,000 points and had not yet let any cattle pass, the player would be allowed to let four cattle pass before the fifth one ended the game (assuming the player did not reach 3,000 points). #atari #retrogaming #activision #genxgrownup ??? Atari 1979 Ultimate Atari 2600 Tier List – ALL ’79 VCS GAMES RANKED

Two years into the life of the Atari Video Computer System - later rebranded as the 2600 - Atari had released just twenty games for the system. It was becoming evident that this little upstart gadget that connected to your TV was going to have some staying power, so during the course of 1979, Atari produced a further eleven titles onto store shelves - but how would they stack up to the existing library? In this video, I rank every VCS game Atari released in 1979. #atari #retrogaming #tierlist #genxgrownup - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com - CHAPTERS 00:00 Atari VCS So Far 00:51 The 1979 Stage 01:48 Backgammon 02:46 Bowling 03:51 Canyon Bomber 04:52 Casino 05:58 Football 07:19 Human Cannonball 08:56 Miniature Golf 09:57 Sky Diver 11:17 Slot Machine 12:19 Superman 14:17 Video Chess 15:31 Summary

Atari’s Solar Fox from CBS | “Pop Quiz, Hotshot – WHAT DO YOU DO?”

Solar Fox is an outer-space arcade game where you MUST keep on the move! See MORE Friday Plays NOW: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnH98BEzdY8&list=PL13zHeyDr6xswcm1YMnJivU0jefJIOLcb&ab_channel=GenXGrownUp Solar Fox is an arcade game released in 1981 by Bally Midway. It was ported to the Atari 2600 console and was also released as a Commodore-published cartridge for the Commodore 64 computer in 1983. The player's task is to pilot a starship through a series of squared solar cell matrixes inside a rack. While capturing the cells the player must dodge waves of fireballs that are being thrown by Sentinels. These Sentinels move continuously along the perimeter of each cell formation. When an entire field of squares is completed (by flying through each square), the game advances to the next rack. The faster a matrix is cleared, the more points are received. #atari #retrogaming #gameplay #genxgrownup - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com - CHAPTERS

Atari 2600 Seaquest from Activision Redemption: Is It BETTER than AVERAGE?

Seaquest didn't fare so well in my Activison tier rankings, but I'm giving it a second look! See MORE Friday Plays NOW: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cujZkgEdEJ4&list=PL13zHeyDr6xswcm1YMnJivU0jefJIOLcb&ab_channel=GenXGrownUp Seaquest is an Atari 2600 video game designed by Steve Cartwright and published by Activision in 1983. The game is an underwater shooter in which the player controls a submarine on a mission to rescue divers. The player uses a submarine to shoot at enemies and rescue divers. Hazards include sharks which attack divers and the player and enemy submarines, which can shoot torpedoes at the player's submarine . The player must ward off the enemies by firing an unlimited supply of torpedoes while trying to rescue divers swimming through the water. The points awarded to the player for shooting an enemy starts at 10 points each, and increases as the game advances. The sub can hold up to six divers at a time. Each time the player resurfaces prior to having a full load of six divers, one of the divers is removed. The submarine has a limited amount of oxygen. The player must surface often in order to replenish the oxygen, but if the player resurfaces without any rescued divers, they will lose a life. If the player resurfaces with the maximum amount of divers, they will gain bonus points for the sub's remaining oxygen. Each time the player surfaces, the game's difficulty increases; enemies increase in number and speed. Eventually an enemy sub begins patrolling the surface, leaving the player without a safe haven. The player starts the game with 3 extra lives, and is awarded an additional extra life each time the player scores 10,000 points. Seaquest can be played single-player or with two players alternating turns. Like other Activision 2600 games, this one had a patch you can send in to get. It required you to get a score of 50,000. You would send in a photo of your game showing this, and they'd send you an "achievement patch". #atari #retrogaming #activision #genxgrownup - LINKS (relevant links mentioned in video) - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com - CHAPTERS
