I Finally Played FROGGER ’97 on PlayStation… It’s Rough

I have played plenty of Frogger over the years—but somehow, I had never played the 1997 Frogger reboot for the original PlayStation. This time, I’m going in completely fresh to see how the simple arcade classic was transformed into a full 3D adventure. Unfortunately, it does not take long for the traffic, awkward controls, and questionable design choices to start taking their toll. Come along as I play PlayStation Frogger for the very first time and discover whether this ambitious update can win me over—or leave me wishing the frog had stayed in the arcade. #retrogaming #playstation #frogger #genxgrownup - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS Fightbox » https://genxgrownup.com/fightbox King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com - CHAPTERS 00:00 '97 Frogger 01:45 Boot Up 04:28 Retro Levels 08:35 Lily Islands 10:05 Honey Bee Hollow 11:52 Scorching Switches 13:35 Dark Dark Cavern 15:45 Conclusion

Atari’s $1,000 ACTIVISION Collection Has a $70 Alternative

Shop X-Arcade: https://genxgrownup.com/xgaming Atari just announced a massive new Activision collection bringing 39 classic games back on physical cartridges — but if your goal is simply to play a bunch of those Activision favorites, there’s now a much less expensive option. The new HyperMegaTech Activision Edition Super Pocket packs 34 classic games into a $69.99 handheld, including Pitfall!, H.E.R.O., River Raid, Keystone Kapers, Kaboom!, Chopper Command, Seaquest, Pressure Cooker, and plenty more. In this video, I take a close look at the Activision Super Pocket, check out its fantastic retro-inspired design, play through a selection of the included games, and compare its lineup with both Atari’s newly announced Activision releases and the three existing Evercade Activision cartridges. How much overlap is there? What’s missing? And if you mainly want to PLAY these games rather than collect new physical releases, could this little handheld be the better value? Let’s find out. #atari #evercade #retrogaming #activision - SHOP Pre-Order from Songbird » https://genxgrownup.com/songbird-spa Paul's Etsy Shop » https://www.etsy.com/shop/Innovative3DShop?ref=dashboard-header&section_id=59455531 http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS Fightbox » https://genxgrownup.com/fightbox King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com - CHAPTERS 00:00 Activision Edition 02:15 Game Breakdown 04:27 Box & Contents 05:13 Hardware Tour 08:13 Power On 09:52 Chopper Command 11:37 Demon Attack 13:17 Enduro 13:48 HERO 15:04 Keystone Kapers 15:48 Megamania 17:21 Pitfall II 17:58 River Raid 19:20 Starmaster 21:25 Conclusion

ATARI Road Runner Almost Never Saw the Light of Day

Before Coyote vs. Acme finally hit theaters (against all odds), Road Runner had its own delayed debut on the Atari 2600. Started by Bob Polaro in 1984 and eventually released in 1989, this Looney Tunes chase got a second chance—but was it worth rescuing? This week on Friday Plays, I dodge desert hazards, turn Wile E. Coyote’s traps against him, and discover why this cartoon chase leaves me with mixed feelings. What do YOU think of Road Runner on the Atari 2600? Share your memories—and suggestions for future Friday Plays—in the comments! - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv
