$1,000 for 39 ACTIVISION Games?! ATARI’s Price Put to the Test

ATARI is asking nearly $1,000 for its new collection of 39 physical ACTIVISION cartridge re-releases — and plenty of people are calling that price outrageous. But is it really?

Rather than argue about whether $1,000 simply feels like too much, I decided to run the numbers. In this video, I compare Atari’s new collection with what these same games cost when they were originally released, what those prices represent in today’s dollars, and what it would cost now to assemble the same 39-game collection using original cartridges, boxes, and manuals.

The results put that $999.96 price tag into a very different perspective.
