In 1986, Tecmo published the side-scrolling platformer, Rygar, to the arcades. I always enjoyed it, but found it to be pretty punishing and ended up costing me more tokens than I would've liked. So in 1990, when Atari released a translation of Rygar for the Lynx, I was immediately onboard. As a bonus, this version of Rygar turned out to have a gentler ramp-up in difficulty, meaning I could play longer and see more of the levels. And Rygar is still one of my Lynx favorites! #atari #retrogaming #lynx #genxgrownup - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com

Shop X-Arcade: https://genxgrownup.com/xgaming Atari just announced a massive new Activision collection bringing 39 classic games back on physical cartridges — but if your goal is simply to play a bunch of those Activision favorites, there’s now a much less expensive option. The new HyperMegaTech Activision Edition Super Pocket packs 34 classic games into a $69.99 handheld, including Pitfall!, H.E.R.O., River Raid, Keystone Kapers, Kaboom!, Chopper Command, Seaquest, Pressure Cooker, and plenty more. In this video, I take a close look at the Activision Super Pocket, check out its fantastic retro-inspired design, play through a selection of the included games, and compare its lineup with both Atari’s newly announced Activision releases and the three existing Evercade Activision cartridges. How much overlap is there? What’s missing? And if you mainly want to PLAY these games rather than collect new physical releases, could this little handheld be the better value? Let’s find out. #atari #evercade #retrogaming #activision - SHOP Pre-Order from Songbird » https://genxgrownup.com/songbird-spa Paul's Etsy Shop » https://www.etsy.com/shop/Innovative3DShop?ref=dashboard-header&section_id=59455531 http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS Fightbox » https://genxgrownup.com/fightbox King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com - CHAPTERS 00:00 Activision Edition 02:15 Game Breakdown 04:27 Box & Contents 05:13 Hardware Tour 08:13 Power On 09:52 Chopper Command 11:37 Demon Attack 13:17 Enduro 13:48 HERO 15:04 Keystone Kapers 15:48 Megamania 17:21 Pitfall II 17:58 River Raid 19:20 Starmaster 21:25 Conclusion
