SPIDER FIGHTER for the Atari 2600 | More Strategic Than It First Appears!

Often overlooked for its more popular big brother, Megamania, this shooter is not to be missed! See MORE Friday Plays NOW: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkIVZhTgZ48&list=PL13zHeyDr6xswcm1YMnJivU0jefJIOLcb&ab_channel=GenXGrownUp Spider Fighter is a fixed shooter designed by Larry Miller for the Atari 2600 and published by Activision in 1982. The game is a re-themed version of the arcade video game Stratovox. The object of Spider Fighter is to protect an orchard containing fruit—grapes, strawberries, oranges, and bananas—from four kinds of bugs. According to the manual, Miller was "the newest addition to the Activision design team." He went on to create the Atari 2600 racing game Enduro for Activision, released in 1983. #atari #retrogaming #fridayplays #genxgrownup - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com

SPIDERS ARCADE Brings a FORGOTTEN Arcade Game to Atari 2600

Try Afterplay: https://genxgrownup.com/afterplay John Champeau and Champ Games have done it again! This time, they're bringing Sigma's obscure 1981 arcade game SPIDERS to the Atari 2600 with SPIDERS ARCADE. Spiders has always been one of those lesser-known arcade games I remember fondly, which makes this release especially interesting to me. In this video, we'll take a look back at the original Sigma arcade game, see just how uncommon it has become, and then put it side-by-side with the new Atari 2600 version from Champ Games. From the growing webs and hatching cocoons to the spiders crawling toward your cannon — and yes, even that mysterious woman who appears between rounds — Champ Games has taken on another arcade game you might never have expected to see running on the Atari 2600. How close did they get? Let's find out. #atari #retrogaming #atari2600 #genxgrownup - LINKS Champ Games » https://genxgrownup.com/champ - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS Fightbox » https://genxgrownup.com/fightbox King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com - CHAPTERS 00:00 Champ Games 01:09 All About Spiders 03:25 Recognition 03:53 Box & Contents 08:05 Power On 12:11 Conclusion

STEALTH on Atari Home Computers | Fly Low & DEMOLISH the DARK TOWER!

Stealth is a pseudo-3D rail shooter designed by Tracy Lagrone and Richard Sansom published in 1984 by Broderbund for the Atari 8-bit computers and Commodore 64. The player's mission in Stealth is to pilot a low-level bomber-fighter ship to infiltrate enemy territory and travel a distance of 10,000 miles to reach and destroy the Black Tower (enemy citadel). The ship uses pulse energy for power, so the player must keep an eye on the fuel supply in addition to avoiding obstacles and shooting enemies. Energy fields are randomly scattered around the planet. The yellow ones contain fields of positive energy that can be used to refuel the player's ship. On the other hand, there are also red, negative energy fields that will drain the ship of energy. On the way to the Black Tower, the player has to watch out for enemy bunkers, tanks, rockets, reconnaissance planes and fighters. Additionally, the player must destroy the radar towers, because a failed attempt to destroy them automatically triggers the launch of a homing missile. The game has five levels, and each successive level is much more difficult. #atari #retrogaming #vintage #genxgrownup - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com
