Atari’s Solar Fox from CBS | “Pop Quiz, Hotshot – WHAT DO YOU DO?”

Solar Fox is an outer-space arcade game where you MUST keep on the move! See MORE Friday Plays NOW: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnH98BEzdY8&list=PL13zHeyDr6xswcm1YMnJivU0jefJIOLcb&ab_channel=GenXGrownUp Solar Fox is an arcade game released in 1981 by Bally Midway. It was ported to the Atari 2600 console and was also released as a Commodore-published cartridge for the Commodore 64 computer in 1983. The player's task is to pilot a starship through a series of squared solar cell matrixes inside a rack. While capturing the cells the player must dodge waves of fireballs that are being thrown by Sentinels. These Sentinels move continuously along the perimeter of each cell formation. When an entire field of squares is completed (by flying through each square), the game advances to the next rack. The faster a matrix is cleared, the more points are received. #atari #retrogaming #gameplay #genxgrownup - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com - CHAPTERS

Atari’s 1982 Ms. Pac-Man | Setting Right What PAC-MAN Wrecked!

Atari released Tod Fry's VCS conversion of Pac-Man in 1981 to somewhat mixed reviews. Like the Star Wars prequels, Pac-Man has become more appreciated as the years pass, but at the time it left many players frustrated and wanting more. So, the following year, when the home version of Ms. Pac-Man was set to be released, Atari seemed to be doing everything it could to put Mister in the past. Jon was among those disappointed with Pac-Man on the 2600, and he's also among those who have grown more fond of it over the years. But in 1982, the wound was still fresh. And it's clear Atari wanted players to know they were listening. In a time when games were commonly created by a single programmer, Ms. Pac-Man's development is credited to FOUR different programmers all working to deliver a more accurate arcade conversion. #atari #retrogaming #pacman #genxgrownup - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com - CHAPTERS
