Atari and Activision are teaming up for a massive new physical release of classic Atari 2600 games! The newly announced Atari x Activision Collection brings 39 classic Activision titles back on newly manufactured cartridges, including Pitfall!, River Raid, Kaboom!, H.E.R.O., Megamania, Enduro and many more. The games will be available individually, across four Deluxe Collections, or as one massive Ultimate Deluxe Set. But there’s more to this announcement than the headline. Activision released 44 Atari 2600 games in North America, so why are only 39 included? And perhaps more importantly, does this mean Atari has finally acquired the rights to Activision’s classic game catalog? In this video, I break down exactly what Atari announced, what’s missing, what this new collaboration DOES mean, and what it very specifically does NOT appear to mean for the future of these legendary Activision games. Preorders are available now at Atari.com. @atari #atari #activision #retrogaming #genxgrownup - LINKS Shop Atari: https://atari.com - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS Fightbox » https://genxgrownup.com/fightbox King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com - CHAPTERS 00:00 The Big Announcement 01:08 Atari x Activision 02:05 Cartridges 02:40 Four Collections 03:22 All the Things 03:58 Thirty Nine 06:18 What Else? 07:55 One Specific Phrase 10:32 Imagic Maybe? 11:35 Conclusion

Become a GXG Insider: https://genxgrownup.com/insider Cosmic Creeps is one of the Atari 2600’s most overlooked games -- and one of the easiest to misunderstand without the manual. In this Friday Plays, I take a closer look at this obscure Telesys release, explain how its unusual two-part gameplay works, and find out whether this forgotten Atari game is actually worth playing. #atari #retrogaming #rare #genxgrownup - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS Fightbox » https://genxgrownup.com/fightbox King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com

If you've watched my reviews, you've probably heard me complain when a retro handheld or tabletop arcade doesn't save high scores. But this isn't really about the scores themselves—it's about what they represented, and why that little feature was such an important part of the original arcade experience. Let's talk about what we've been trying to preserve all along. #retrogaming #arcadegames #highscore #genxgrownup - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS Fightbox » https://genxgrownup.com/fightbox King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com - CHAPTERS 00:00 Common Comment 01:15 Small but Important 02:05 What We're Chasing 03:10 The Challenge 04:09 Technical Argument 04:58 The Chase 05:37 What Are We Preserving? 07:12 Gadgets Aren't Arcades 08:03 The Irony 08:44 Why It Matters 09:15 Conclusion

The CULTIC live playthrough continues as we finish off The Crypts and move straight into the next map, The Chapel — because apparently after surviving underground horrors, the logical next step is walking into a creepy chapel full of cultists. Great plan. No notes. Join the GXG crew as we keep pushing through CULTIC’s brutal retro FPS mayhem, blasting cultists, finding secrets, and probably making several questionable survival choices along the way. Come hang out live, chat with us, and help me survive the next round of old-school shooter chaos! #CULTIC #RetroFPS #BoomerShooter #HorrorFPS #LiveStream #PCGaming #IndieGames #RetroGaming #GenXGrownUp #GXG
