Atari 1982 ULTIMATE Atari 2600 Tier List – ALL ’82 VCS GAMES RANKED

Shop Fightbox: https://genxgrownup.com/fightbox The Atari VCS entered 1982 as the undisputed king of home video games. Millions of consoles had found their way into living rooms, arcade games were becoming cultural phenomena, and Atari was firing on all cylinders. The result was one of the most ambitious years in the system's history. In 1982, Atari released sixteen new cartridges for the VCS, including arcade adaptations like Berzerk, Defender, and Vanguard, groundbreaking originals such as Yars' Revenge and Haunted House, ambitious adventures like Raiders of the Lost Ark and Star Raiders, and even the infamous E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. But which of these games still hold up? Which were the best examples of Atari operating at the peak of its creativity? And which ambitious ideas failed to live up to their potential? In this video, I'll be ranking every game Atari released for the VCS in 1982 through the eyes of Little Jonny—the thirteen-year-old Atari fanatic who was there to experience many of them firsthand. #atari #retrogaming #tierlist #genxgrownup @atari - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS Fightbox » https://genxgrownup.com/fightbox King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com - CHAPTERS 00:00 Atari in 1982 02:19 Berzerk 03:20 Defender 04:27 Demons to Diamonds 05:33 E.T. the Extraterrestrial 07:02 Haunted House 08:11 Math Gran Prix 09:13 Pac-Man 10:35 Raiders of the Lost Ark 13:20 RealSports Baseball 14:33 RealSports Football 15:45 RealSports Volleyball 16:52 Star Raiders 18:15 Submarine Commander 19:26 Swordquest: Earthworld 20:50 Vanguard 22:08 Yars' Revenge 23:40 Conclusion

The Never-Ending PAC-MAN Pipeline

Shop Fizz: https://genxgrownup.com/shopfizz Every time we cover a Pac-Man handheld or any Pac-Man gadget really, anything that has a standalone version of Pac-Man in it, I invariably get viewer comments that ask often condescendingly and rhetorically, but it will ask, "Really? How many times are they going to give us Pac-Man again?" Well, if you strip away the baggage from that, it is a valid question. And in looking at this new color handheld from Fizz, I'm going to try to answer that question and more. #pacman #retrogaming #handheld #genxgrownup - SHOP Shop Fizz: https://genxgrownup.com/shopfizz http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS Fightbox » https://genxgrownup.com/fightbox King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com - CHAPTERS 00:00 Pac-Man Again? 00:44 Reasons Why 02:25 Why This One? 03:39 Box & Contents 07:15 Hardware Tour 09:02 WIN a Pac-Watch! 09:55 Power On 12:43 Screen 15:20 Act I 16:26 High Score? 17:07 Summary

ATARI PITSTOP | The 8-Bit Home Computer Successor to Activision’s Enduro?

Pitstop is a 1983 racing video game developed and published by Epyx for the Atari 8-bit computers, ColecoVision, Coleco Adam, and Commodore 64. It was followed by Pitstop II in 1984. Pitstop is played from a semi-first-person perspective, placing the player in a bird's-eye perspective slightly behind a race car. The game features three difficulty modes and three gameplay modes: Single, Mini-Circuit, and Grand Circuit. In Single, the player can choose from one of six tracks and learn how to play the game. In the game's Circuit modes, the player races against other drivers and earns a certain number of points and money depending on the place he finishes in each race. The Mini-Circuit features only three tracks, while the Grand Circuit features all six. Pitstop implements pit stops, a concept not featured in many other contemporary racing video games. Color-based damage is shown on the player's car whenever it hits another vehicle or a wall on the track, both of which wear out the tires. The player also has a fuel meter that gradually depletes during each race. If the player's vehicle displays a red color from taking too much damage, or if it is running low on fuel, it must make a pit stop. Unlike other racing video games, the pit crew is fully controlled by the player, who must refuel the vehicle and replace its worn-out tires. Up to four players can play by taking alternating turns. #retrogaming #atari #fridayplays #genxgrownup - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS Keys of Fury » https://keysoffury.com G'AIM'E Time Crisis » http://genxgrownup.com/gaime King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com - CHAPTERS

Is This PONG CLONE from 1983 Still FUN to Play Today? | Bentley Electronics Compu-Vision 440

Shop Fightbox: https://genxgrownup.com/fightbox Released in 1983, the Bentley Compu-Vision arrived at a very strange moment in video game history. By then, the industry had already moved beyond simple Pong-style systems and into cartridge-based consoles like the Atari 2600 and ColecoVision, making the Compu-Vision feel almost like a throwback the moment it hit store shelves. Despite the futuristic name and sleek woodgrain styling, this was still a dedicated first-generation “Pong clone” console, featuring built-in paddle games like Tennis, Soccer, Squash, and Solo Handball. In this video, we’re going to clean up this forgotten piece of early ’80s gaming history, see if it still works more than 40 years later, and put it through its paces on a modern display. Was the Bentley Compu-Vision truly “too little, too late” for 1983, or is there still some fun hidden inside this late-era Pong machine? Let’s hook it up and find out. - SHOP http://genxgrownup.com/amazon http://GenXGrownUp.com/merch - PODCAST http://GenXGrownUp.com/pod - SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/genxgrownup - WEB & SOCIAL http://GenXGrownUp.com/discord https://twitch.tv/genxgrownup http://fb.me/GenXGrownUp https://bsky.app/profile/genxgrownup.com https://www.tiktok.com/@genxgrownup https://www.instagram.com/genxgrownup/ http://GenXGrownUp.com - SPONSORS Fightbox » https://genxgrownup.com/fightbox King of Nerds » http://kingofnerds.tv Order of Cosmic Champions » http://www.orderofcosmicchampions.com - CHAPTERS 00:00 1983 Compu-Vision 01:45 Box & Contents 04:52 Manual 06:02 Hardware Tour 07:38 Cleanup 10:35 Power On 13:20 Game Samples 18:18 Summary
